With audiobooks, kindle and online videos of "how to's" readily available.<br/><br/>
<br/>I haven't really tried audiobooks nor kindle because I am still sticking on the old way of buying actual books to read.<br/><br/>
<br/>Most of the books I read are non-fiction books with a wide subject about selfimprovement. I try to read 30 minutes a day.<br/><br/>
<br/>Here are my 5 reasons why reading is important:<br/><br/>
<br/>1. Mental sharpness<br/>
<br/>While reading can help you build a broader vocabulary, study shows that a constant reading habit builds mental sharpness. You will be surprise as time goes by you will see improvements with how you can quickly pick things up compared to when you dont have the habit of reading.<br/><br/>
<br/>2. Improves concentration<br/>
<br/>Find an interesting topic that hits you. Self help, educational, novels, even comic books. Since you are immerse in reading, you will notice your concentration improves. Think of it like a laser beam. A laser beam is a concentrated light and has a powerful use for cutting through objects.<br/><br/>
<br/>3. Helps when socializing<br/>
<br/>As you find other topics to read, you'll have a very good supply of things to say to your next reunion. Learning new things by reading increase your knowledge, thus increasing the things you can say. The next time you will be introduce to someone, you are ready to do short talks with ease.<br/><br/>
<br/>4. Reading is a basic skill<br/>
<br/>While writing is also a basic skill, my vote goes to reading as an important skill to master. Great men write their golden knowledge, share them, teach them. Although you can listen, reading is far better because you can pause and think about it and embrace it.<br/><br/>
<br/>5. It's fun to learn<br/>
<br/>Some things can be learn by reading. There are people easily convince when they hear someone preach about a certain topic. But in reading, the only voice you can hear is your mind. This is how your mind can truly realise a good thing and soon enough you will enjoy the affirmation that your own voice tells you.<br/><br/>
<br/>To sum it up, reading can be a fulfilling habit because of its benefits. It release feel good hormones and you won't feel out of place. <br/><br/>

<br/>Whether in work, school or at home.<br/><br/>
<br/>Question is "at what cost?"<br/><br/>
<br/>If our mind is set to an unhappy state, we will get a result that are not needed.<br/><br/>
<br/>In short, the intangible state of our mind is directly proportional to good result.<br/><br/>
<br/>Something we easily miss out.<br/><br/>
<br/>A couple of weeks ago I became worried. We will welcome our first child a few months from now. Work is hectic. Money is also a problem. I became counter productive because I mismanage not only my emotions but also my health.<br/><br/>
<br/>My mind is the only thing I relied to. It always encourage me to "fight the good fight".<br/><br/>
<br/>It wasn't enough.<br/><br/>
<br/>Then came a breaking point. I was out for 7 days. Stayed in the hospital for 3 days and 4 daya at home. I felt bad.<br/><br/>
<br/>Yet I recovered quickly by maintaining the "fight the good fight" attitude, healthier lifestyle and smart financial budgeting.<br/><br/>
<br/>All fell into place as I performed better at work.<br/><br/>
<br/>My suggestions to all who felt the same way as I have are,<br/><br/>
<br/>No your Limits. It may sound negative at first but you are just being true to yourself. If you know (and admit) your weakness and strength then you are in the right direction. The key here are the little things inside of you that stops you from reaching a goal.<br/><br/>
<br/>Ask for help. There's nothing wrong with asking for assistance. Even the strongest person has an ally. A very strong support group like families and friends are where you can start.<br/><br/>
<br/>Provide help. If asking for help is a good thing, helping is better. You will notice a surge of 'feel good' feeling after you have helped someone in need. It doesn't have to be a burning building saving life situation.<br/><br/>
<br/>Embrace stress. In this high times, stress is everywhere. It is how you react that matters. If you can make an action plan whenever a stressful situation happens then that's better. Imagine in your mind a stressful scenario, then imagine how you will react.<br/><br/>
<br/>The unseen things around us are the tools that made up what we see now. Don't underestimate the power of the intangibles. They matter as much as the results.<br/><br/>

Nobody notice them until they have done something amazing. </div><div><br></div><div>They battle their way to be victorious for the common good. Putting their personal interest at the bottom of their list. </div><div><br></div><div>Sacrificing what they long for. </div><div><br></div><div>In exchange to save others. </div><div><br></div><div>Even for a complete stranger. </div><div><br></div><div><b>Looking back </b></div><div><b><br></b></div><div>Back then, heroes were celebrated after victories. They were remembered as the one who saved the day. </div><div><br></div><div>Object of appreciation such as medals, clothing, even monetary equivalent were provided. </div><div><br></div><div>Surprisingly, they had no expectations of such gesture. </div><div><br></div><div>They simply knew the need to step up, use all their power, and make sure after every struggle there is harmony for EVERYONE. </div><div><br></div><div>They just have this 'I have to do something about it' attitude. The war ended about 70 years ago. Countries learned to get along. People became independent. Laws are abided. And common respect will be a day to day thing. </div><div><br></div><div>Heroes today live within us. Those are the 'stop' behaviors before misbehaving. </div><div><br></div><div>And a sense of guilt if we can't help (or won't) others in need. </div><div><br></div><div>We became self protecting that we won't be needing a hero to help us. </div><div><br></div><div>We don't want to feel helpless and miserable. </div><div><br></div><div>We fought little battles within that avoids bigger ones. </div><div><br></div><div>Luckily, that seems to keep a harmony for now. </div><div><i><br></i></div><div><i>Additional Reading and Resources:</i></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><i>New York Post: The Amazing Moment Mystery Hero Pulls Crash Victim from Canyon Wreck:</i></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><i><br></i></span></div><div>http://nypost.com/2015/04/16/mystery-man-rescues-driver-from-suv-dangling-over-canyon/</div><div><br></div><div><i>Wikipedia: Hero</i></div><div><br></div><div>http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hero</div><div><br></div><div><h1 class="entry-title" itemprop="headline" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; font-weight: normal; clear: both;"><span style="font-size: 17px; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><i>Throwback Thursday: Remembering ‘Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back’ 35 years later</i></span></h1></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">http://herocomplex.latimes.com/movies/throwback-thursday-remembering-star-wars-the-empire-strikes-back-35-years-later/#/0</span></div><div><br></div><div><i>Artwork by Will Murai</i></div><div><i><br></i></div><div>Hero of Iroas</div><div>http://www.willmurai.com/Hero-of-Iroas</div>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02725983585373793283noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1827314181854564087.post-89690947975514263352015-04-14T07:52:00.001+08:002015-04-15T23:37:44.885+08:00Lift The Heaviness: Personal Thoughts About Over Doing<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-bMqBFVtVfIA/VSxi7w9-BvI/AAAAAAAAAQs/A7EXpkradu4/s640/blogger-image-208548108.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-bMqBFVtVfIA/VSxi7w9-BvI/AAAAAAAAAQs/A7EXpkradu4/s640/blogger-image-208548108.jpg"></a></div><br><div>Along the way, as we get things optimized, we are left with a lot of things in our mind. Last
time I have wrote about being “</span><a href="http://betweenpaths.blogspot.com/2014/04/moving-forward.html" target="_blank"><span style="font-family: inherit;">In The Zone</span></a><span style="font-family: inherit;">”, where consistency is an important
ingredient for success.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> And I also mentioned</span> being “unconscious”, something that you can do when you want to see the end result of your efforts.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">With
everything that you have learned so far in life, from the books you have read,
from others where you found inspiration, and from some other things that made
you think “A-Ha”, it seems that there are a lot to take in.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">That
what you have known is very hard to organize.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Very hard to call out when you need it.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>And everything is confusing you.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The
other day, I was out cleaning our car, one of those moments that I find
relaxing.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It is like one of those
activities that if you will spend a couple of minutes, you’ll get the result
that you want.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Like
when you put an effort, you’ll get the result fast.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Because all you have to do is wash the car,
and that is it.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I
have done something stupid before I cleaned the car. I have read around 2 to 5
articles about cleaning cars.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Well it is
not really stupid, because I enjoyed a relaxing time reading articles, get to see pictures of new cars, and had a 'me' time as well.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>But what I realize after reading the
articles, I began changing my methods when it comes to cleaning the car.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Instead
of me doing what I already know, I started to hesitate, change my style, and
felt uncomfortable.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It felt like
something is holding me back to do ‘my thing’ when it comes to cleaning the
car.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I
know it is just a simple task, but nevertheless it also applies to most of
situations in our life.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Where we feel,
and sometimes regret not using our freedom or our sense of being care free.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">For
most part of our life we will encounter or meet people around us that will tell
us what are the preferred methods for different skills.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Since most of the people that have voices
about what they do are experts, there is a greater tendency to believe them.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Which
is not a bad thing of course.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Since experts
have exerted their efforts, took time learning their skills and most of the
time they spend hours using what they know to get the job right.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It is not a bad idea to listen and pay
attention to what experts will say.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I
know it is a bit confusing now, but I want you to remember that as an
individual you have the power of choice, a privilege that we have since we were born, and
even our brain tends to function on its own from time to time.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Without
any filter.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Imagine,
be an expert to your field, where you are the
person that every one calls to do a specific task, or to consult to when they
have any problems.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Don’t be afraid to
voice out, do things your way.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Along with
that add more knowledge to what you already know.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Use
your freedom, your unconsciousness wisely.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>It will be your source of doing things right, at the perfect
timing.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Hold back if you need to, but do
it only because you have to and if you are getting carried away.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If you ever
feel, holding back is already costing you your sense of freedom to do
things your way, then step back and reorganize.</span></div>

<br />
Before I begin, I would like to say thanks to my <a href="https://twitter.com/" target="_blank">Twitter</a> Followers, specially to <a href="https://twitter.com/35NextYears" target="_blank">@35NextYears</a>, <a href="https://twitter.com/achieving" target="_blank">@achieving</a>, <a href="https://twitter.com/GanjaGooBalls" target="_blank">@GanjaGooBalls</a>, and <a href="https://twitter.com/Monspiration" target="_blank">@Monspiration</a>, who have retweeted some of my blog posts for the past few days.<br />
<br />
I really appreciate the extra effort of spreading the word and hopefully a lot of people will reach my thoughts as <a href="http://betweenpaths.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Between Paths</a> and me move forward.<br />
<br />
Thank you again.<br />
<br />

<br />
Now for this new blog that I have written for you guys, I have decided that it will be a great idea to start writing posts that are somehow connected to each other. Since self improvement have certain ladders to success, there are definite connections to one behavior to another, if not most likely the whole thing of improving is connected.<br />
<br />
I hope that made sense. :-)<br />
<br />
Moving forward...<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
From previous post, <a href="http://betweenpaths.blogspot.com/2014/04/never-give-up.html" target="_blank">Defeat is Not The End</a>, I wrote about how to recover from personal defeat of not reaching goals and how to maintain a positive attitude of never giving up.<br />
<br />
I have indicated important pointers to help you regain your energy to go out there and continue to reach your goal, and some helpful perspectives on how to see things differently. If you want to read that wonderful post just click <a href="http://betweenpaths.blogspot.com/2014/04/never-give-up.html" target="_blank">Defeat is Not The End: How to Recover and Never Give up</a>.<br />
<br />
But for this post, I would like to emphasize the importance of consistency as an important ingredient for success, and how you can fuel yourself to keep moving forward.<br />
<br />
We all know that doing the same thing can be boring, in fact, as humans we really don't like the idea of repetition. That is why we leave the boring things to computers, or any other machine that can handle the boring, repeating jobs.<br />
<br />
Well, that is somehow similar to what we can do to reach a specific goal.<br />
<br />
If we can do the right things, at the right time, with even a little perfection, and if we keep repeating until we are consistent, I sure that whatever we are trying to achieving, with the right time frame, it is going to be do-able.<br />
<br />
Questions now are.... Where to start, and how can we do it?<br />
<br />
<strong>Make a List</strong><br />
<br />
This is really where you need to start. Make a list of things, behaviors, and distractions that contributes to your goal. Take time to do this because after you have listed all of them, you need to cross out some of the things you have listed.<br />
<br />
Why am I saying this?<br />
<br />
Because the first time you will make your list, you will be able to understand that not all that you think that contributes to your success are really necessary.<br />
<br />
<strong>Practice</strong><br />
<strong></strong><br />
Now you have your list, practice those behaviors that you have listed. If you know that you already possess the right behavior, keep on mastering them and never be shy that you have the right attitude all along.<br />
<br />
<strong>Take one day at a time</strong><br />
<strong></strong><br />
Don't be hard on yourself if you can't do the same effective things that you have done yesterday today. Take your time, but don't lose track. Have your list next to you (you can save it to your phone as a note) to remind you of the things you need to practice.<br />
<br />
<strong>Be Unconscious</strong><br />
<strong></strong><br />
I read an article a long time ago about the success of NBA Players. I really apologize that I forgot when, where, and how did I get to read about being unconscious as an effective way to success. Anyway, for what I can remember, being unconscious is like being confident that you can reach your goals.<br />
<br />
That you won't care about anyone else, that you will be careless, that you feel the sense of freedom. It is like you will become one with your goals, your aspirations, your dreams. As if you are dreaming while you are awake.<br />
<br />
NBA Players use the power of the unconscious mind, the see the ball going to the hoop before they actually shoot the ball. They don't care what will happen, they are just one with the ball, the ring, and their vision of that ball making its way to the hoop.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
A moment of clarity.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The 'In The Zone' Moment....</div>
<br />
Thanks for reading Between Paths, and I hope to see you guys again here, where I share my insights and thoughts how to be successful, and make self-improvement a lot easier than we all think.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02725983585373793283noreply@blogger.com0Santa Rosa City, Philippines14.2843023 121.0888927999999414.1611978 120.92753129999994 14.4074068 121.25025429999994tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1827314181854564087.post-33919625786387316062014-04-25T18:00:00.000+08:002014-04-26T05:52:39.286+08:00Defeat is Not The End: How to Recover and Never Give UpIn life there are things that we want to achieve, like a brand new car, a house near the beach, the promotion you've been waiting for, the physical look you want to have this summer, and so on, and so on.<br />
<br />
Yet along the way, as time goes and as challenges made it difficult, we change our preference. We end up feeling defeated, that we didn't get what we have hoped for, and 'distractions' has gotten in the way towards achieving our goals.<br />
<br />
Well my friend, you are not alone.<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
In fact, most of the achievers have been defeated numerous times before winning what they want. And just like you, they also felt demotivated, hated themselves and gave up too.<br />
<br />
In real world, all of us have been given opportunities time and time again. We are all losers at some point in time. The people that achieved what they wanted, they just kept on going, and going, and going.<br />
<br />
They have broken barriers within themselves that they made the impossible, possible!<br />
<br />
Let's take a closer look how to recover from defeat and decide to never give up.<br />
<br />
<strong>You did not get what you want? Then, welcome to the club.</strong><br />
<strong></strong><br />
OK, so the first thing that you have to remember is, you did not get what you want and you are not alone. All of us are losers and all of us have the capacity to win what we thought as impossible. If you will consider the fact that you're not alone when it comes to not getting what you want, it will be easier for your feelings to recover.<br />
<br />
<strong>Cry, cry, and cry a lot.</strong><br />
<strong></strong><br />
Allow yourself to be depress for a period of time. If you need an hour, a day, a week, a month or even years, then do so. Let your true feelings come out, but consider the people around you. Don't just be depress and throw nasty things to others. They are innocent, so just let your awful feeling out but still be mindful of your actions.<br />
<br />
<strong>Now, analyze why you fail.</strong><br />
<strong></strong><br />
After you've cried a river, it is time to analyze why you fail in the first place. Was it the methods you have applied? or How big the goal was? or The time frame you have allowed yourself to achieve the goal?<br />
<br />
If you haven't heard about the S.M.A.R.T. goal, I suggest that you read and apply them the next time you plan how to achieve your goals.<br />
<br />
<strong>A few pointers about S.M.A.R.T. Goal.</strong><br />
<strong></strong><br />
It stands for:<br />
<br />
<strong>S: </strong>Specific<br />
<strong>M: </strong>Measurable<br />
<strong>A: </strong>Attainable<br />
<strong>R: </strong>Realistic<br />
<strong>T: </strong>Time Bound<br />
<br />
All of which answers particular questions when you plan how to reach your goal. But I wanted to just point out the specific, the measurable, and the realistic part.<br />
<br />
When you set a goal, you need to be very specific. For example "I want to save money" doesn't have any specific amount. Try to be specific like, "I want to save $500 dollars", "I want to lose 10 lbs."<br />
<br />
Then measure your progress as you go towards your goal. Just like my example of saving $500 dollars, you need to keep track of your progress.<br />
<br />
Finally, make sure that your goal is realistic. Don't shoot for the moon or something. If you are aiming to save money, then make sure it doesn't sacrifice your other priorities.<br />
<br />
<strong>Take it easy...</strong><br />
<strong></strong><br />
As you plan for your next attempt to reach your goal, don't get too excited. Take it one step at a time, if you still feel the slight depression from your previous defeat them stop for a moment, have a coffee or watch TV, or do whatever you like.<br />
<br />
When I am writing my blog, I want to make sure that I enjoyed every second of typing my thoughts, that I am very unconscious with my work, that I get to very in to the topic.<br />
<br />
Still, I am a person not a machine. I take few breaks in between, I play with our dogs, talk with the people around me about crazy stuffs that we can laugh about, just to name a few.<br />
<br />
I want to be a workaholic, but I want to enjoy life as well.<br />
<br />
So take it easy, take few breaks, love your life as you move towards your goal. It is a win-win situation, baby. <br />
<br />
<strong>When the going gets tough...</strong><br />
<strong></strong><br />
But there are times that you will feel that you can't move up to the next level towards your success. I'll tell it is fine. Just think of emotions are just "stops" or "breaks" that you have to consider. I am certain that your body, your situation, or whatever force around is just telling to slow down, take a rest, and continue later.<br />
<br />
Although, it is ideal to push your limits sometimes. When you feel that is something within you that is about to break and you feel that you can't continue or you want to quit, keep moving forward.<br />
<br />
Limits serves as boundaries of what you are not capable as of the moment, but it doesn't mean it is forever. You have to still respect the laws of nature within you and around you. "Live today, fight tomorrow"<br />
<br />
<strong>Talk with someone very close to your heart...</strong><br />
<strong></strong><br />
It can be your pet fish, your mom, your annoying neighbor, your work mate for 10 years, your bully brother, whoever is very close to your heart that can and will be true to you when you tell them about your defeat.<br />
<br />
Talking with someone very close to you is an effective way of releasing tension and letting someone knowing your situation can change your perception about defeat.<br />
<br />
Because I am sure, whoever is that someone that you will tell your bad stories to, will have something to say about their own experiences, and how they have turn things around.<br />
<br />
<strong>Change approach....</strong><br />
<strong></strong><br />
Part of the S.M.A.R.T. goal is "Attainable", in which case the approach how will you reach your goal. If you have tried the same approach that lead you to failure, then re-think and change your approach.<br />
<br />
It is a trial and error my friend. An I am positive that you'll get the right method after trying over and over again.<br />
<br />
My take is to do your own research. The internet have all the "How to..." for free that you can find. Try several of them for a couple of days and track which one works best for you.<br />
<br />
<strong>The bigger the goal, the more sacrifice you need to make...</strong><br />
<strong></strong><br />
It is a general rule, what you give is what you take. I am not trying to demotivate you but think about it. If you really want to reach a certain level of success, it is suppose to match the level of work you are willing to do.<br />
<br />
It is not like the big boss always sit around and do nothing. Comes late and goes early. No. They work 24/7/365.<br />
<br />
They work their behind, and we just don't know about it. I guess they even work while they are sleeping. So, take your time to think about getting bigger goals, and if you are willing to pay the price.<br />
<br />
<strong>Lastly, have faith...</strong><br />
<strong></strong><br />
Always be on the positive side of the situation. I am not saying smile, and laugh while you are beaten. I am saying that have faith that whatever you are going through right now, whether you have failed over and over again, or you just came one step short to winning, that you'll eventually get what you deserve.<br />

</span><span class="eop">I want to share the importance of being a
role model and some tips on how to be one.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>And just a note, this topic is inspired by two very important things in
my life.<o:p></o:p></span>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span class="eop">The first one is my Dad.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I have looked up to him as an overall person
that I want to be someday.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He really
opened my potentials with a <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">show and tell</i>
approach.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><span class="eop">The second one is the Gospel during Maundy
Thursday.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It was about the Last Supper,
and how Jesus made a point about <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">walking
the talk.</i><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I really recommend reading
that gospel. You can read view it by clicking </span><a href="http://www.oremus.org/liturgy/lhwe/mt.html"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">here</span></a><span class="eop"> and
browse the <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Gospel </i>or look it up using
your favourite search engine, such as </span><a href="http://www.google.com/"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">Google</span></a><span class="eop">.<o:p></o:p></span>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span class="eop">To my surprise, my Dad is read some of my
articles here.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He actually suggested

<span class="eop"><em><span style="color: #4f81bd;"><span style="font-family: Cambria;"><span style="font-size: large;">Let me start with the importance…<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></em></span></div>
</li>
</ul>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<strong><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-size: large;"><u>It is for us<o:p></o:p></u></span></span></i></strong></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><span class="eop">If we continue to think about our
preferences in life, we out do ourselves every day.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I remember, reading a quote from a <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">Hindustani Proverb</i>, </span><span class="QuoteChar"><u><em>“True nobility is in being superior to your previous self.”</em></u></span><span class="eop"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It is really powerful if you
put an effort to compete with yourself every day.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>You’ll see changes around you, and notice
that everything is in harmony.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>You just
need to be patient, which is what I want to add.<o:p></o:p></span>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"></span><br />
<br />
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><strong><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><u>It is for our future</u></span></i></strong><span class="eop"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><o:p></o:p></b></span></span></span></div>
<span class="eop">Depends on where you live, but I am pretty sure
it won’t really make a difference; I have a feeling that the adult-child ratio
can be one adult to five children?<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I
guess.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>But what is important is you see
to it that whatever the future of our society or on a global scale, we need to
ensure that good things last, even when we are gone.<o:p></o:p></span>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"></span><br />

<span class="eop"><em><span style="color: #4f81bd;"><span style="font-family: Cambria;"><span style="font-size: large;">Now for some of my tips…</span></span></span></em></span></div>

<div class="MsoSubtitle" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span class="eop"><em><span style="color: #4f81bd;"><span style="font-family: Cambria;"><span style="font-size: large;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></span></em></span><br />
<br />
<br />
<ul>
</ul>
Before I give out my tips, for me there are three essential
aspects to consider about being a role model.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span><u>What is within</u>, <u>what is outside</u>, meaning the environment,
and <u>how everything is inter-connected</u>.<o:p></o:p>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"></span><br />
<br />
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<strong><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-size: large;"><u>Know Yourself<o:p></o:p></u></span></span></i></strong></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span>It is crucial to first look within you, and understand what
is going on inside of you.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Know your
best qualities and also your challenges, meaning your bad sides.<br />
<o:p></o:p>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
I recommend to:<o:p></o:p></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><u>Make a list</u></b>:
You can do this by self-reflection.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>For
example, think of those times you have helped or you have pleased someone.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Make a note and continue.<br />
<o:p></o:p>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><u>Talk with a dear
friend or family member:</u></b> When you talk with them either ask them straight
forward questions or simply chat with them and try to catch any thing that they
will say about you.<br />
<o:p></o:p> </div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><u>Use the internet:</u></b>
There are a lot of personality online tests that you can find.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>One is the <a href="http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">HumanMetrics</span></a> which
is based on Carl Jung’s and Isabel Brigg Myers’ typological approach to
personality.<br />
<br />
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><o:p></o:p></b>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<br />
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<strong><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><u><span style="font-size: large;">Always Do The Best of Your Best<o:p></o:p></span></u></span></i></strong></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span>Once you have known yourself, you’ll have a general idea of
your good side and bad side.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Make a
habit of always doing your good side as consistent as possible.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>This will reinforce that good qualities and
you will soon notice a difference in you.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>That you are doing better as a person every day.<br />
<br />
<o:p></o:p>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<br />
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<strong><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-size: large;"><u>Work on your challenges<o:p></o:p></u></span></span></i></strong></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span>When it comes to dealing with your “bad side”, you can take <a href="http://betweenpaths.blogspot.com/2014/02/part2goalsetting.html"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">baby
steps</span></a> by making small changes.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Personally, my challenge so far is learning how to quit smoking.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>We have kids around where I live, that is why
it is a must that I stop because I know that they will see it as an example.<br />
<o:p></o:p>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
A few more suggestions:<o:p></o:p></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><u>Read articles
about “how to stop…”:</u></b><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The next
time you visit your favourite book shop is to look around mini books of “how
to…”.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>You can even browse <a href="http://www.amazon.com/books-used-books-textbooks/b?node=283155"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">Amazon</span></a>
for a good book to read.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I heard some
books even provide workbooks that you can use to track your progress.<br />
<o:p></o:p>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><u>Join seminars or
clubs:</u></b><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If you think what can
work for you is working with others, then join seminars or clubs.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>You’ll get a chance to know people around
you, get insights about improvements, and it is also one way of getting new
friends.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>You’ll get to be involved in a
community that expresses common concerns.<br />
<o:p></o:p> </div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><u>Get a life coach:</u></b><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>These days, you can book a life coach even at
the comfort of your home.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Think of it
like, if you want to learn how to play the piano, either you self-learn or you
can have a mentor.<br />
<br />
<o:p></o:p>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<br />
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><u><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;"><span style="font-size: large;">Put Everything Together<o:p></o:p></span></span></u></i></b></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span>Now that you know yourself, being consistent with your good
qualities, working on challenges, and getting involved in a community, it is
time to put everything in place.<o:p></o:p>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
I think the key here is to always have a reminder, and what
better way to do is document what have you been doing.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Think of it as ”A Captain’s Log”.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Use a Journal by either writing manually or you
can get yourself things online that are similar.<o:p></o:p></div>
Like a blog.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Blogs,
such as <a href="https://www.blogger.com/start"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">Blogger</span></a> or <a href="file:///C:/Users/jrvil_000/Desktop/wordpress.com/"><span style="color: #3d85c6;">WordPress</span></a>, are my suggestions.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It is a great way to document your progress,
express yourself and have some sort of a “broadcasting network”, where you can
share your insights.<o:p></o:p>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
Just like what I am doing. <span style="font-family: Wingdings; mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-char-type: symbol; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-symbol-font-family: Wingdings;"><span style="mso-char-type: symbol; mso-symbol-font-family: Wingdings;">J</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Wingdings;"></span><o:p></o:p> </div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span>Some other things you can do are:<o:p></o:p>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><u></u></b><br />
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><u>Download a
reminder app to your smartphone:</u></b> What have I done before was, I took a
very nice graphical quote or motto and then set it as my screensaver.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It kept me reminded of what I want to
accomplish and, eventually who I want to become.<o:p></o:p></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><u>Meditate:</u></b>
Now this is something that I recently tried.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>I am teaching myself to meditate, which is very close to praying for me
actually.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It is keeping me focus, being
the person that I want to be, and it has been a big help to avoid bad habits.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>You can do it on your own or if you want you
may also join yoga classes or read a book about it.<o:p></o:p>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;">
</span><br />
<br />

</span><span class="normaltextrun"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Reading
is one of the basic skills we have learned, and as we get older and wiser, we
tend to lose the interest of opening a book.<o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun">And
since we are currently living in a world where information is readily
available, it gives us more reason to ignore well published books.</span></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<span class="normaltextrun"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Personally,
I can't remember the first time I have read a book, may be because I use to
play a lot when I was a child, like most little boys do. </span></span><br />
<span class="normaltextrun"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><span class="normaltextrun"><span style="font-family: inherit;">But
my dad is a wide reader, he collects books and magazines.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>And if I am not mistaken, he has a collection
of old DC comics that was issued around 1950’s or 1960’s.<o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun">I
can still recall the time my when Dad bought us our first</span><span class="normaltextrun"><span style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;"> <span lang="EN-US">encyclopedia</span></span>.
Weeks after, he bought us some other cool books, like Child Craft, World Atlas,
and Sesame Street Books. And months after, he continued buying more books and included
magazines for us to read and enjoy.<o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun">He
really helped me to be a book enthusiast and form my reading habits.</span><span class="eop"><o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span class="normaltextrun"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Well,
I am not a bookworm, that's for sure. As a child, I still go for a tour inside
a toy store rather than a book shop or library.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>And even today, I spent more time reading articles in the Internet
compared to actually opening a book.<o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun">So
why is it reading important anyway? And what good does it gives us?</span><span class="eop"> </span><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun"><span style="font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">· </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span class="normaltextrun"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">It's a stress reliever<o:p></o:p></b></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun">Study
shows that reading helps us relax. It lets our brain set aside thinking about
what makes us stressful. Since, while we tend to concentrate about what is
written in the book, it helps us to lessen worries.</span><span class="eop"><o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun">It's
not a way to hide or to turn away from problems. In fact, once you feel relaxed,
you can handle whatever is troubling you calmly.</span><span class="eop"><o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun"><span style="font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">· </span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span class="normaltextrun"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Keeps us</b></span><span class="normaltextrun"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;"> <span lang="EN-US">knowledgeable</span></span><o:p></o:p></b></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span class="normaltextrun"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Reading
helps us to be updated with current events, the latest trends, and expand our
knowledge banks.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>And being knowledgeable
gives you a better edge in your career, you can relate to much more set of
people, and even improves your vocabulary because it will make you articulate.<o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span class="normaltextrun"><span style="font-family: inherit;">The
more knowledgeable you get, the more you know what you are saying, what is
being discuss when you meet groups of people, and the next time you are face to
face with your boss, you will have a lot of things to say or share instead of
the normal, “Good Morning”.<o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span class="normaltextrun"><span style="font-family: inherit;">In
short, reading enhance your knowledge, thus, giving you much more confidence to
talk about specific topics because whatever everyone knows, there is a chance
that you either know more or better, and you can talk with more people around
you.<o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;">· </span></span><!--[endif]--><span class="normaltextrun"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Reading has health benefits </b></span><span class="eop"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"> </b></span><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><o:p></o:p></b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun">It
doesn't only provide knowledge to make us smarter; reading can actually help
prevent disease, such as Alzheimer's disease, and Dementia, because it exercises
our brain.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Just like our body, if we exercise
more, physically we grow stronger.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Same
goes with our brain.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If we read more
than the usual, it slows down the process of losing power when we age.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Plus our memory will be better. </span><o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span class="normaltextrun"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Well,
these are just a few key benefits of reading.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>And most of what a regular reading habit can do to us is beneficial; it
is really a great addition to our day to day lifestyle.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>My suggestion is that, you can start small by
doing some half an hour reading before starting your day and before sleeping.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>And after a short while, you will notice
great improvements.<o:p></o:p></span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun">Comments
and suggestions are always welcome.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">

<span class="normaltextrun">Keeping
up with technology can be hard at times. Especially, that the pace has reached
a certain level that is way too fast for anyone to really keep up. But it
doesn't mean that we should just stick with the old methods for us to survive.
And luckily, whenever new technologies are about to make an impact, they have
been reviewed before hitting the market. </span><span class="eop"> </span><a name='more'></a><o:p></o:p><br /></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">Now,
before you stop reading my thoughts about how you can keep up just because you
already know what to do, you might want to browse a little bit and hopefully
you find some useful information along the way and leave a comment at the end
of this blog.</span><span class="eop"> </span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">If
you have read some history about changes on how things work, particularly,
machines, then you might have notice that whatever is happening now has
happened before.</span><span class="eop"> </span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">Take
for example; sending letters. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Think
about how we usually send letters about a hundred years ago. If your letter
arrive in a week, well that is considered as top service. And no one actually
thought about that a letter; specifically an email can arrive in a few seconds.</span><span class="eop"> </span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">So
if you will calculate the efficiency rate between the two, you might come up
with more than half a million faster service for email compared to the usual
snail mail.</span><span class="eop"> </span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">Whew!</span><span class="eop"><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">So
basically, technology has been solving </span><span class="spellingerror">a lot</span><span class="normaltextrun"> of problems giving the thought of advancement in
technology a well-deserved acceptance, rather than we shoo away the changes.</span><span class="eop"><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">Technology
have innovated </span><span class="spellingerror">a lot</span><span class="normaltextrun"> of aspects in our daily lives. From communication to
transportation, medicine to advance treatment, office automation to factory
production, all link to technology.</span><span class="eop"><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">So
embracing the fact that technology have solved, and will be solving problems is
a wonderful thing. Since technology has met our demands, which gives more
reason for everyone to keep up or at least to be stayed informed.</span><span class="eop"><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">And
having said that, here are some common things you might want to try for you to
stay updated.</span><span class="eop"><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Have a Technology Magazine
Subscription </b></span><span class="eop"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"> </b></span><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><o:p></o:p></b></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">One
of the ways to keep you updated with the latest gadget trends is to have either
an online subscription or have a monthly subscription sent to via regular mail.</span><span class="eop"><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">Personally,
I prefer the magazine for a number of reasons and it won't cost you too much.
Most subscription may cost you just the same price of a cup of coffee. And most
yearly subscription gives you perks, like free 2 months issue, discounts to buy
gadgets, and so on.</span><span class="eop"> </span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Do Some Window Shopping </b></span><span class="eop"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"> </b></span><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><o:p></o:p></b></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">Another
way to keep up is by shopping around. This way, you'll have a chance to
experience what the device can do, and if you have any questions I am sure the
shop representative will be happy to assist you with all you need to know.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">And
what is cool about it is that you can actually try the device before even
considering buying one.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>For example,
most phone shops have these displays of the latest mobile phones in the market
and most of them have the mobiles turned on for the customers to try.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">And
if you will be stopping by to a Telecom shop that offers monthly subscription for
line rentals, you will be amaze to find out that the mobile phone you are
looking for to have is actually for free and you can even ask if there is a
trial period, just in case you change your mind.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">Well,
window shopping doesn’t mean that you really need to be in the shop, physically
because I am sure you can also look around thru the internet by just visiting
the shop’s website and most shops do have websites these days with online
support ready for your questions.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Bring it on the Table<o:p></o:p></b></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">This
mostly happens a lot during family time, which occurs during meal time.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Well, it also can happen during your lunch
break or even when you are catching up with a friend.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If you don’t have any topic to talk about,
why not open up the conversation by saying something like, “I saw an ad about
the new iPhone.”<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>And an instant, I am
sure you will be updated because the person with you will definitely have
something to say.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">And finally, Think about Investing<o:p></o:p></b></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">Once,
you made some research by reading, asking and even by socializing with your
friends or family, you might one to consider buying whatever you think that
suits you.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">My
take on that is, as long as it will make your life easy and more productive, I consider
as an investment.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Since, the reason for
getting involve with new technology is for everyone to have an easier life
doing a specific task, then the cost of getting a new device covers the amount
of time that you can use for other things.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">
<span class="normaltextrun">My
final note about keeping up with technology is very simple, get updated, stay
connected and think about the benefits.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>After
all, whatever the technology has for us as of right now are the solutions for
our previous problems.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="paragraph" style="margin: 1em 0in; vertical-align: baseline;">

find your purpose in life. When I found my purpose </span></span></span></span><span style="background-color: inherit;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun"><span style="mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: "Segoe UI"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">it made me happy, more content and more focus.</span></span></span></span><br />

<br />
<span style="background-color: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun"><span style="mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: "Segoe UI"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">So, what would be in your mind right now would probably be:<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></span></div>
<span class="normaltextrun"><span style="mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: "Segoe UI"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"></span></span></span><br />

in it for me?</span></span></span><br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span class="normaltextrun"><span style="mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: "Segoe UI"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">How will
this satisfy my life?</span></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun"><span style="mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: "Segoe UI"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">Will
finding my purpose change my life?</span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun"><span style="mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: "Segoe UI"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">The answer is simple. With you knowing your purpose, you will have
a clear vision where you want to be. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>And
you having a personal mission, you will always have a guide whenever the vision
becomes blurry.</span></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: inherit;"><span class="normaltextrun"><span style="mso-ascii-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-font-family: "Segoe UI"; mso-hansi-font-family: Calibri;">Having said that, here are the things I consider important when
finding your purpose.</span></span></span></span><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Have you ever thought about it? Your purpose. If you already have figured that out, then that's wonderful. I bet, you are happier, satisfied and always that person that got up early and can't wait to live your purpose for another day. It doesn't have to complex. In fact, looking and eventually finding that purpose should come naturally. And sometimes for others it came to them without even thinking about it.<br />
<br />
It is like a calling from a higher power. It is really natural to think about spiritual connection when it comes to talking about purpose in life. <br />
<br />
Personally, when I found about my 'calling', it happened when I least expect it. And I am very happy to say that as I write this blog, as of this very moment, I am doing my purpose. And I am part of the society that wake up early, very excited to contribute and play my part as I see where my purpose fits.<br />
<br />
Now, if you are wondering, how can it happen to you? How can you find your purpose?<br />
<br />
Well, there are a lot of ways but I will list down what I think can work for most people. And if you still need some help about it, I suggest to either sign up to an online course that you can find almost anywhere these days by just typing keywords to your favorite search engine, or you may also contact me and I reply as soon as I can.<br />
<br />
<strong>Read Inspirational Articles</strong><br />
<br />
Internet is a library of huge information and I am sure you can find what you are looking for. I suggest reading articles about the people that shared positive contributions to our society. The likes of Ben Franklin, Steve Jobs, and Michael Jordan. For me, they have played different roles that shaped our environment, and their purpose in life have changed my life and others for sure. Their stories, insights about life are so amazing and timeless and I am sure it will reach your inner soul, make you feel good, think about your purpose, and hopefully help you find your purpose.<br />
<br />
<strong>Remember an Amazing Feeling</strong><br />
<br />
The reasons why I have mentioned the number of pageviews in my introduction for this blog are, first to express my appreciation to that have read my work and to also keep me going living my purpose. One of the key factor for finding your purpose in life is your feelings. Personally, me knowing that I have reached 3,000 eyes already is a huge accomplishment. And that is one of the reason why I keep doing what I am doing right now.<br />
<br />
If you ever have encountered any moment in your life that you think you have contributed to anyone at all, try to remember what you have felt. And what ever positive contribution that could be, it might be the purpose you are looking.<br />
<br />
Shoot me any comments, suggestions, or if you would like me to write anything about self-improvement tips, I am here to help. You can write it below, or even send me message using the contact button.<br />
<br />
Thanks, and until next time. :)</div>

Since we normally focus more on how we start our day by exercising to rev up our body, or watch the morning news to be updated, or eat a very healthy breakfast, ending the day plays a critical part to your productivity level, resting period such as sleeping, and most important the effect that it will give you to start your next day.<br />
<br />
After all, a relaxing flight has a smooth take off to build momentum, and then followed by a stress free landing for a complete wonderful voyage.<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
And so, here are my thoughts about how you can end the day feeling refreshed for the next day.<br />
<br />
<strong>Leave Your Work and Go Home.</strong><br />
<br />
It has been proven that if you take your work with you, chances are you won't get the rest that you need for the next day. And there are other things that you don't want to happen just because you brought your work to your house.<br />
<br />
Like the possibility of arguments with your spouse, neglecting your kids, and you sitting down again in front of your computer. <br />
<br />
How lonely and sad that can that be? Right?<br />
<br />
So, don't be a prisoner of your work. If you are leaving from your workplace, make sure that you LEAVE.<br />
<br />
"So leave like, write a resignation letter?" Of course not. What I am saying is from the moment you step out of the office, that is it. No homework, no presentation slides to complete at home before going to sleep, no reports to be done during weekends, and so on.<br />
<br />
"But, how about if I really love my work and I want to bring it home?"<br />
<br />
Well yeah, it is natural that we think about our work almost all the time, specially if we really love our job, and it is cool. But keep in mind that there are things in your life that also needs your attention.<br />
<br />
So the next time you are heading home from work, be sure that it is not only that your are going home physically. But also mentally and emotionally.<br />
<br />
<strong>Don't Sleep Tired.</strong><br />
<strong></strong><br />
A well rested mind gives you a better quality of sleep. In fact, researchers found that quality of sleep matters more than the number of hours. And since our brain works 24 hours a day, you want to set your brain to sleep mode before actually sleeping.<br />
<br />
And physically being tired not only means that it is just your muscles and bones, it also includes our brains. Because when we are tired we still think, therefore there are activities inside our brain that are not related to become sleepy.<br />
<br />
Most of the activities that your brain is too busy doing is worrying. We worry about our work, family, finances and a lot of other things.<br />
<br />
So it is recommended to set your brain for a relaxing sleep. Giving you the quality that you need to get up next day feeling refreshed.<br />
<br />
Personally, I play video games on my phone to keep my mind from thinking about problems. I suggest some other things, like reading, talking to a friend, cuddle your pet or even watch some light and funny TV shows.<br />
<br />
Whatever works then it is perfect.<br />
<br />
But if you have tried almost everything you can think of, I recommend to seek professional opinion with a specialist.<br />
<br />
That's all for now, and be sure that if you have any suggestions, comments or anything that you would like me to write about please don't hesitate to write your thoughts below. Thanks for reading Between Paths. <br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">We often think of our future, whether what lies beyond us or
hoping for a better situation.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The more
that we think about it, the more we either get frustrated or impatient.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>No matter how we look forward to what will
happen to us, nothing can start with just having a vision.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It really will start by making significant
changes.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Changes that are part of the
big picture of what we want to happen to our lives.</span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: inherit;"><o:p></o:p></span><br /></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I started waking up 1 hour earlier to prepare myself for the
day.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Then I looked back to those days that
I woke up 1 hour later.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Comparing, I
have done more when I woke up earlier.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">See, that is just a little change that made a huge
difference.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">

</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Simple
changes to our choices help a better chain reaction.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Consider this, if you will make a list of
things to buy before you pick up your groceries, you will spend less time
completing your task.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I have done my
groceries a hundred times without a list, and believe me I end up forgetting to
pick up a thing or two.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>So I need to
drive back to the grocery, using up gas, spending time and effort.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>But with a “to-buy” list, I save time and
money.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;"><span style="font-family: inherit;">Again,
simple change, better result.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">

<br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">And when we thought about it, we get a feeling of hopelessness.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Even the greatest of the great had their times of feeling
demotivated because most successful people have failed over and over again
before they have reached their goals.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Identify your
strength<o:p></o:p></span></b></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Most people look for things within them that don’t
exist.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>What we really need to worry
about first is that “Are we using up too much energy for things that are not
important?”<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If you answer “yes” then
step back and think about where you are good at.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div align="center" class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: center;">

<br />
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Have faith<o:p></o:p></span></b><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">There is really a good reason why are you being stuck in
a situation where you are not yet getting the things that you want.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Possibly you are not ready yet.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>And there is nothing wrong for anyone not to
be prepared yet for things that are not made for them.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>So just have faith that that day will come,
but until then you need to be prepared and well equipped.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
